Kharasi is Weyr set in 11th Pass on Pern. Thread still falls from the sky, and Aivas was never found. It is a more revolutionary setting where there is less hierarchy amongst the dragon colors, though corruption still lies in some Weyrs. Under the firm hand of Alesia the Weyrwoman though, this will probably never happen in Kharasi, or so everyone hopes. Kharasi is located on the ancient peninsula where Tillek might have been, and resides within a huge canyon instead of a traditional volcano. Hot thermals of water beneath heat all the necessary areas, which made it a wonderful place to set up a Weyr. It is most noted for its canyon style setting and great spires of rock that line the edges forebodingly. The Bowl is wide enough for a massive lake and feeding pens, and everything else a Weyr would need to function.

Before dragonriders inhabited this land, it was under renovation for nearly four decades, and some of the families of miners and stonecrafters still take refuge amongst the stone they had so lovingly carved. Wherhandlers are of those people, and since there are still rennovations to be made to Kharasi Weyr, these people may still be there for quite some time.

The Holds that are the lifeblood of Kharasi are Hurricane Hold(The fishing hold), Izvand Hold(Agriculture), Tregad Hold(Livestock), and the infamous Thyra Hold, which was once renowned for their expanses of trees that supplied Hurricane Hold with wood for boats, but corruption has taken hold and their tithes have become scarce, and trade less reliable.
