What form do I practice?
The first form of bellydance I learned could be called Cabaret I suppose. My teacher wasn't really that specific. I knew nothing about bellydance, and even little about the fact that there were many styles. The only other style she had mentioned was Tribal. Over the years since I began, I've discovered the many styles of bellydance, one by one And I love them all. What seems to be an American Favorite these days is Called "Gothic Tribal" or "Dark Fusion" Bellydance. There are so many Tribal Fusion Troupes in The US that I can hardly keep them straight.
I currently prefer Tribaret and Dark Fusion. When I discovered the "Dark Fusion" (and the like) style, I fell in love!
I've never been a girly girl, when it comes to things like fashion
and being fabulous in general. I had many tattoos before I started taking classes and felt that I just didn't look good in a girly, flashy costume doing cutesy stuff. (not that there's anything wrong with it). I studied nontheless, and worked hard at learning the art. Now here I am today fusing everything I've learned over the last 5 years into Tribal Fusion, Heavy Metal Fusion, and Dark Cabaret.
