Looking for my barcode software?
There is a new version called Z-Barcode, and it is available at www.barcodemall.com!
Other things you also might find exciting:
- Sharp Zaurus: This PDA is like a real computer!! Running Linux of course. It is fast, stable and cute! If you are a looking for a PDA that is not Pocket PC or Palm based, this might just be the right thing for you. I am very happy with it. Check it out at myzaurus.com!
- Portable Data Collection: This is a rather expensive toy, but fun, too... The ZEBEX PDL-20. It's a portable terminal in the size of a cell phone with integrated barcode scanner. You can do a lot of things with some simple C programming. Get it with the C Compiler to get the most out of it. Check it out here: www.zbausa.com/pdl20
- Sony Playstation 2: More than a game? Oh yes, with the Linux Kit it truely is more!! See the Playstation 2 Linux Community web site at playstation2-linux.com. You will not be able to write your own games soon, actually it is quite complicated.... But you can learn a lot about specialized and highly optimized architecture for graphics output. Have fun!! And put a game CD in once in a while for recreation ;-)
- pyTkTerm: Are you commnicating with a serial device and are you using a terminal emulator program to send and/or display data? If you are sending/receiving entire lines at a time (text separated by CR/LF or LF characters) you will enjoy pyTkTerm - especially, if you need to send same lines over and over again... In this case you should forget HyperTerminal! TeraTerm is much better. But now there is pyTkTerm. You'll soon notice that it can do more for you than the two programs above. pyTkTerm will even allow you to write programs to achieve complex tasks. pyTkTerm is a scriptable serial communication tool targeted at developers. It offers many features that terminal emulator programs just don't have, like automatic time stamping of sent and received data, separate areas for input and output data, repeating inputs by selecting from a history list, editing output data (very useful to type in comments while still more data is appended to the end, or while the connected device is turned off), running Python scripts (which are able to receive and send data and even may change elements of the user interface) in a separate thread, highlighting of Perl-style regular expressions in output area, and much much more...
Download pyTkTerm (Sorry, download no longer available... I am sorry to inform you that there are some issues to continue the distribution of this program. If I am able to work them out, I'll let you know.)
