| Hi...My name is Lynda and I am a self-taught Pyrographic Artist...specializing in Wildlife Pyrography/Woodburning ...with a focus on North American Endagered Wolves. I live in Canada, in a Century Stone Cottage on 200 acres right beside a Wildlife Conservation Area . Wildlife is abundant ... and there is no shortage of subjects for my pyrographic/woodburning artwork. Likewise, windfallen trees are also plentiful and provide wonderful canvases for my Wildlife Pyrography. I work on Basswood, Burled Maple, Black Cherry, Cedar, Poplar, Black Ash, and on and on... I have also enjoyed burning on Tagua Nuts , Paper and Leather goods. I have decorated Leather Coats with my Wolf Artwork and have been delighted with the results. I also like to burn on large slabs of wood and make coffee tables out of them. I have collectors of my work in Canada, United States, England, Scotland, and New Zealand that I know of. I have always loved to draw..even as a small child . I took 'Art' classes in Public & Juniour High school ... dreaming of becoming an Artist. My husband Allen, was my High School sweetheart and we Married right out of school. 7 years later our Twin sons, Adam and Hayven were born. Our 3rd son Dee (Dallis) followed 18 months later. I had my hands full with 3 wee ones in seat covers at the same time, but I remember entertaining them on the long car trips to Tennessee and Montana....drawing cartoon characters for them. 8 years after Dee, we were blessed with our last son, Jonathan. It was when Jonathan was teeny (12mos or so), and the other Brothers in school....that I "remembered' my dream of becoming an Artist .... I was 32 by this time...and hadn't picked up any serious Art supplies since grade 9. I bought some vine charcoal and newsprint sketchbook.... and set to work re-honing my skills by drawing portraits of Jonathan...Adam...Hayven...Dee....Allen..... my Girlfriends.... TV newscasters.... Anyone that would sit for l0 minutes without moving.!!! All the passion for drawing came rushing back into my life and I have never looked back. I have a love of the Outdoors and for the past 20 years have been exploring and sketching Wildlife, from the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee to Glacier Nat'l Park in Montanna, and finally to the North Woods of Canada, My Homeland. I hope that my Artwork will bring attention to the Beauty and Majesty of Wildlife, while at the same time, help people recognize Their plight and the need to protect these wonderful Wild Spirits...or we will lose our true Wilderness Areas. I am also an Instructor and I teach Pyrography in 2 day workshops...both in the Spring and in the Fall of the year....For those who cannot travel to Canada for instruction... I have DVD Workshop Projects available for sale. I also have available for sale... KITS either in LEATHER OR WOOD. They include Picture, Pattern and either Leather or Wood, typed instructions plus a Pictorial CD of the stages of development...... Eagle, Wolf Pups, Tiger...and other subjects.
