Philip Mauceri
Philip Mauceri is Professor and Head in the Department of Political Science at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA.

Born in New York, Prof. Mauceri received his B.A degree from New York University and his Ph.D from Columbia University.
His areas of research in comparative politics include political violence, state-society relations, human rights and Latin American Politics. He has received a Fulbright Scholar Award (Colombia), a Fulbright Senior Specialist Award (Dominican Republic) and an APSA Research Grant, and has been a visiting lecturer at the Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela and a research associate at the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos in Lima, Peru.

His areas of teaching include, Comparative Politics, Terrorism, Latin American Politics, Latin American Civilization, Inter-American Relations, Human Rights and Methods of Political Analysis.

Prof. Mauceri is married with three children, Alessandro, Isabella and Ariana, and enjoys reading, traveling, classical music and cooking.
