MOON NIGHT By CJ Winters Published January 1999 Hard Shell Word Factory Authors Site http://cjwinters.romance-central.com ISBN: 1-58200-062-X
Anything can happen on a blind date under a full moon in the Ozarks. Including murder. While on a hayride, urban Keefe, 46, and Tara, 38, are transported back to the same rural setting in 1884, into the bodies and identities of a farm couple, ages 17and 20. Then things get complicated.
CJ Winters created a unique twist to the time travel genre as she propelled Keefe and Tara into the past. Only a writer with lots of talent and an excellent working knowledge of the writing craft could have brought together this story, tying the loose ends up as neatly as a nicely wrapped Christmas present. Moon Night is a must read for time travel romance addicts like me. Four stars ****

1644 Scotland has haunted Ashley Gordon's dreams since she was adopted as a small child. Never mind that it was the same dream that visited her over and over, she was sure it was just that, a dream. However, when she gets the opportunity to visit the country of her dreams, she receives a rude awakening that causes her to re-evaluate those fantasies. While visiting Castle Braeburn in the Highlands, she awakes one morning and comes face to face with a host of people she at first assumes to be characters lending their acting skills to add authenticity to her Highland experience. The most annoying of these characters is Colin MacLachlan, a man who she feels takes his role a little too seriously. As time goes on, Ashley fights the feeling that she has indeed traveled back in time to 1644 Scotland. Only when a haggard old witch tells Ashley the mysterious and yet undeniable truth does she realize that not only has she traveled back in time, but that this is her true place in time. That this is the time from which birth mother had sent her in order to save the infant Ashley from being killed during a raid on the castle. Now Ashley must not only come to terms with her legacy, but with her growing attraction to Colin MacLaughlan, the Highland warrior who has now taken over Castle Braeburn from those who violently took it from Ashley's family. Will she fight for and claim her right to the castle? And what other revelations await her in this wild and beautiful country? JA Ferguson's Timeless Shadows is an engrossing novel set against the Highlands of Scotland. Full of magic and suspense, it's a great read that you won't want to see end.

A LOVE THROUGH ALL TIME By Jean Nash Genre: Time Travel/Réincarnation Romance Published by ImaJinn Books Publishing date: October 1999 Fours Star**** A shot rings out and Andrea frantically pulls to the side of the road. A car in front of her has blown out a tire; however, the sound awakens a memory in Andrea. While she sits there, the road changes to dust and the cars to carriages. She can see and hear historic New York! Andrea is terrified because this is not the first time it has happened but it is the longest spell she’s had yet.
Andrea is an actress and was on her way to an audition. Coincidentally, the part is for a television miniseries set in the early 1900s. She gets the part but starts to feel deja vu with her co-actors especially Paul Salinger and Justin Dinehart. Both men hate each other and both want Andrea. One of Andrea’s closest friends, Emilie, who was born in the 1920s, suggests that Andrea may be regressing to a past life. Preposterous! Andrea refuses to believe such a suggestion until she begins to fully relive her past life. She must try to figure out want happened to her, Paul and Justin in the past to prevent a tragedy from happening in the present.
Jean Nash’s love of history is evident in a “Love Through All Time.” She beautifully intertwines historical accurate details into her novel giving her characters a very realistic quality. Nash successfully ties the events of the past and present through the miniseries Andrea stars in. The miniseries also provides the perfect catalyst for the past to reenact itself.
Readers will feel themselves drawn into the events of the past wishing that they could get Andrea to know what they do. The tension at the end becomes excruciating as pages quickly flip to find out if Andrea will succumb to her past life. A “Love Through All Time” is a wonderful trip to the past and deserves four stars.****

Five Stars***** Alenna Carstairs was an amateur archeologist helping with excavations at Scotland's MacAulay Castle when she finds a ring that will change her life forever. Having left behind a failed relationship that, along with other changes in her life, brought about a nervous breakdown, Alenna got as far away from her home of Arizona as was possible. However, panic attacks follow her, and she finds added to those the inescapable feeling that she's been to the castle before and increasingly feels she's losing her grip on reality in the mist shrouded land that is Scotland. When she finds a strange and beautiful ring while digging with the archeologist group, she can't resist trying it on, and it's then that her world as she knows it changes as she's plunged into the year 1318. Rescued by Tynan of MacBrahin - a warrior knight of the Baron MacAulay, she finds herself at once attracted to and repelled by this rough yet beautiful and emotionally scarred man. It is Tynan who takes care of her until she is able to fully grasp the reality of the situation, and the danger. For Alenna knows the bloody history of MacAulay Castle - and that of its inhabitants; a luxury not shared by Tynan and the others she comes to know. Will Alenna use this knowledge to change the castle's history, or will she allow it to play out its original fate? And what of her feelings for Tynan of MacBrahin? Will she allow herself to love him - and will he allow himself to love her despite having lost so tragically in the past? Denise Agnew's Bridge through the Mist is a timeless tale of tragedy shared and love found despite unimaginable odds. SOUL GUARDIAN By Tara Manderino Paranormal Romance E-book Ebooksonthe.Net February 2000 ISBN: N/A
After living the life of a vampire for four hundred years, Dr Lucien Marquees, Ph.D., Professor of History, just wants to be mortal again. He wants to be normal. Lucien knows there is a possibility he can achieve this goal - he just has to get his hands on an ancient book which holds the secrets to release his soul from the hell he lives in. In his quest to find it, he traces the book back to a small antique shop.
Althea Brynne, a psychic, needs time to heal and deal with the blows she’s recently received from the media and life in general, when her psychic gift is exploited and ridiculed. She isn’t looking for any more trouble but that’s exactly what she gets when an intriguingly handsome man walked into her grandfather’s antique store, inquiring about an ancient book.
What follows their meeting is an entertaining tale about Lucien and Althea learning to trust each other and deal with their attraction. A relationship is born as their love and passion blooms, but for how long? There are two much more powerful vampires who have their own reasons to assure that Lucien never gets his possession of the book he seeks, and they will go to great lengths to achieve this. Are Lucien and Althea strong enough to survive their danger ahead? Can their love triumph over this evil?
SOUL GUARDIAN is Tara Manderino’s first offering to readers. With her debut novel, Manderino has shown true talent in capturing the attention of the readers and keeping it right to the very end!
Ms Manderino puts forth an interesting paranormal romance story with lively characters; a vampire and a psychic! Although the writing seemed a bit disjointed in one or two places and there were a few typo-graphical errors, I enjoyed reading this e-book.
SOUL GUARDIAN is just the sort of tale to curl up with on a stormy night! I’m looking forward to future offerings by Tara Manderino. She’s definitely an author worth watching! 4 **** stars!

ENEMY MINE
TITLE: Enemy Mine ISBN: 1-929034-58-X Pub-Date: September 2000 GENRE: Dark Romantic Fantasy AUTHOR: Jewell Dartt http://homestead.juno.com/jkdartt/home.html PUBLISHER: Dark Star Publications
Jewel Dartt grabs the reader’s attention right from the first line (“She knew someone was watching her. The question was...who was he? And what did he want?”)and she never let’s it go. At first, we are convinced that this is going to be merely a suspense-filled “stalker” story, and we are right. But Jewel has some surprises up her sleeve, for this is no “ordinary” stalker yarn. Gabrielle Warlick is a lovely young thing who should have died in 1688, if Angel, a vampire(Buffy, where are you?) had not fallen in love with her and turned her into a vampire, to be pursued by the vampire hunting Adams Clan. Now, over three hundred years later she is still fleeing the current generation of Adams, Preston and his brother Cameron. Gabrielle, moreover, is hardly your standard-issue vampire either, for she refuses to hunt humans, taking her blood instead from forest animals. Nor is Preston your regular Adams Vampire-Stalker, for he suspects that much of what he has been told about vampires is false propaganda and is out to save the life of Gabrielle. To do this he has to convunce her to trust him and flee with him from his brother Cameron. Tensions abound as Gabrielle is torn between her growing love for Preston and her centuries-old fear of the Adams Clam. And Preston is stretched tight between his feelings for his “Gaby-Skye” and the pull of his family. So heavily are the odds stacked against these two it seems that, against all the rules of romance writing, a happy ending is impossible...particularly when Cameron kills Gabrielle. But, fortunately, in a paranormal romance, though things may be improbable, nothing is quite impossible. Give Jewel four and a half stars for almost making the improbable seem possible... and entertaining us the whole way. ****1/2 Review by Terry Sheils for Midnight Scribe |

She deals with the need for honest communication between people, not just couples, but parents and children also. This is a good book for those who love to curl up with a good romance story and relax. Title: Hold onto the Night Author: Shauna Michaels Publisher: ImaJinn Books ISBN: 1-893896-11-0 Rating: 4 ½ stars
Kathleen Dawson is a Geologist, sent to the deep forest to test the land for some oil. She arrived but her guides have a problem. The land they were supposed to explore was guard by a strange being. A myth called the Jaguar Man.
Kathleen didn't believe in myths and refused to leave, even after the camp received a warning message. She is subsequently kidnapped by a strange man, warning her to leave the forest before she is unable to. Refusing to listen to him, she is returned to the camp where she gets ready to start her testing. When the rains come, her guides abandon her in the flooded camp. She tries to escape and find the canoes, only to be caught in the river and rendered unconscious by the debris and then rescued by the strange man. Kathleen is grateful for the stranger saving her, but she has to go back to work or risk falling in love with the man.
Hold on to the Night is a well written, fast paced novel that takes you on ride through the minds of the main characters. The scenes are well described and the characters well fleshed out and believable. The conflict between Kathleen and the strange man is thought out and you can literally feel the tension as you read. I usually don't read these types of stories but this one had me captivated. In the scale of one to five, I would give this one a four and a half.
