If Zakat was established as a Societal Order
THE CONDITION OF MUSLIMS WITHOUT ISLAM
"You can't escape the fact that people will fight for food. These people have guns, and each one of them has a family to feed."
-Mohammed Sahnoun
UN Special Envoy to the region of Somalia
THE CONDITION OF MUSLIMS WITH ISLAM

"The Khalifa sent me to collect the Zakah from the Muslims of Africa. When I collected it, I inquired if there were any poor on whom the money could be spent, but I could not find one poor person."
- Yahya ibn Sa'd,
Special envoy of Khalifa Umar ibn Abdul Aziz (717-720)
The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The best charity is to feed an empty stomach."

          ---------------------------

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, "Whosoever clothes another Muslim, Allah (SWT) will cloth him on the Day of Judgment with clothes of Heaven (Jannat)."

           ---------------------------

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Indeed, an ignorant man who is generous is dearer to God than a worshipper who is miserly."

      ---------------------------

The rich will be crawling into Heaven.

  ---------------------------

When one gives Zakat with one hand the other hand should not know.

---------------------------

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Every good, done for the rich or the poor, is charity."

                                                                              ---------------------------

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "…wealth is (like) green and sweet (fruit), and whoever takes it without greed, God will bless it for him, but whoever takes it with greed…will be like someone who eats but is never satisfied…The upper (giving) hand is better than the lower (receiving) hand."

         ---------------------------

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The nation that withholds Zakaat (i.e. does not pay it), Allah afflicts famine on them."

                    ---------------------------

Ali and Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Prophet (PBUH) said, "When Zakaat is looked upon as a penalty (i.e., people will pay Zakaat with a heavy heart, as though it is a penalty), then look for violent windstorms, earthquakes, men being swallowed by the earth, metamorphosis, stones being pelted from the skies, and calamities following one another in rapid succession, like beads of rosary falling one after the other when its string is cut."

            ---------------------------

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, "A man giving in alms one piece of silver in his lifetime is better for him than giving one hundred when about to die."

          ---------------------------

The Prophet Muhammad, as reported by Abu Hurairah. Every morning two angels come down from the Heaven. One says, "O Allah! Reward all those who give in Your cause," while the other says, "O Allah! Uproot every miser who withholds."

                                                                              ---------------------------

When people stop giving Zakat the rain stops coming down. The only reason it still rains however is because of the animals.

                                                                              ---------------------------

Money is only yours when you spend it in Allah (SWT) `s way.

Sheikh Misfir, "I was walking out of the Haram (the Ka'bah in Makkah) when I saw a man begging from everyone that passed by him. Just then a man who had parked his tinted Mercedes Benz excessively close to the Haram in a designated VIP parking walked passed the beggar on his way to his car. As he pulled the keys out and the alarm did the 'whup whup', the beggar raised his finger to the sky and said, "Please, for the sake of Allah!"

Trying to end the moment and avoid a dip into the pocket, the Mercedes man said back, "Allah will provide!"

The beggar said back, "What! Did you at any moment think that I thought YOU were my provider! I'm not asking for your provision, I KNOW Allah will provide for me."

Sheikh Misfir continues…"The two stood there staring at one another for a moment and then the Mercedes tinted windows came up and the man drove away.

A needy African sister who was sitting nearby on the street selling textiles was moved by the incident. She did not have much, but from what she did have, she pulled out 1 riyal and placed it in the hands of that beggar. He smiled and went on his way.

Meanwhile the Mercedes man could not drive on with the choke of guilt. He turned the car around and made his way through the crowd to the place where the incident had happened.

Sheikh Misfir says...I saw with my own eyes as he pulled out a 10 riyal bill from his briefcase to give to the beggar. But he looked left and right and could not find him.

What was he to do? He had already pulled out the bill to give for the sake of Allah and was not going to put it back. So he found the nearest person he thought was worthy of the bill, placed it in her lap and went on his way.

The 10 riyals sat in the lap of the sister that had given the beggar!

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) assured us, "Charity does not diminish wealth." (Look at how quick it was replaced for the sister from Africa…ahhhh…but with more!)

Once there was a Muslim king. He was very wealthy, and one day he told his advisers that when he is buried he would like them to have his hands stick out of the grave. When inquired on why he would make such a peculiar request. He said he wanted to show the people that he had so much money in this world, but now that he is dead he cant take a single penny of it to the next.

There was a rich Muslim woman, who one night had a dream about her house with filth covering all the walls and ceilings. She would try to clean it but it wouldn't get clean. The next morning she went to the Imam of the Masjid and related her dream to him. The interpreted her dream to mean the filth was her money. Thereupon she gave her money to charity.
