Foo Foo

Foo Foo is a yellow budgie (or American parakeet) with light green coloring and deep blue cheek markings.

I rescued Foo Foo in the One Allen Center courtyard October 1999 in downtown Houston after she flew into a glass window.  

She was unconscious at the time I found her and about to die.  I picked her up and took her to the GulfCoast Animal Emergency clinic in Houston (one of the best vet clinics around Houston).  There she stayed for 4 days and the great doctors there nursed her back to health.   At first, the vet said that she would never be normal, a little slow (or retarded) because of the concussion she suffered, but Foo Foo sure surprised everyone.  Now she's a real trouble maker, running, flying and playing and annoying the other birds in the house.  Sure she was one expensive bird, but I wouldn't trade her for the world. 

She also follows Birdie around wherever she goes and tries to pluck the feathers out of her head when she's not looking (much to the annoyance of Birdie).  

She likes to play in the "singing tree" and imitate Birdie noises.  Foo Foo thinks she is the Alpha female and chases Birdie around the house whenever she's whining.  

Foo Foo is also an acrobat and can hang upside down from trees.  

We love her very much.
