WARNING!
Site under construction

Greetings and welcome to the center of my home on the Internet. I am the incomparable Jennifer M Mullen, known to my friends as Poncho and my enemies... well, I don't care what they call me. I'm taking up the call of the wild homepage, this time by doing it all by hand in actual HTML, CSS, and perhaps JavaScript -- If I get really ambitious.

I know, you're thinking "what about Myspace, what about Livejournal, why do you have to have a homepage too?" The answer is simple: If I don't have something I can completely format, is it really mine? Well, I have those options under links too. Here is something I can use to learn, I can change easily and effectively, and without being cluttered by my daily life details or the clutter Myspace forces you to deal with. (Though most notably I don't have any music on this site (that's for the best I think.)

So sit right back and you'll hear a tale, see some art, maybe share a laugh or two. Have patience with me, this page is going to grow along with my knowledge. Right now I'm going to leave you with my blurb of the week, and a newly designed image. Both of which should get updated by next Friday. Oh, there are some links to keep you occupied too, cause I care about the quality of your time, or I wouldn't be working on this. :)

The Blurb of the Week: March 24th 2006

Reality vs. Fantasy: The problems with being a daydreamer are many, but this week a internet pal of mine got her dreams smashed by the cold reality of a busy and reluctant rock star. It upset me, not just because of the situation, but because I could sympathize all too well with life making the world I want to see take a crash. A powerful imagination is a dangerous thing when plied to a situation that could actually happen in real life. You will always put the best spin on things you want to happen, and are bound to live with disappointment. The trick of life is learning how to take the best out of situations with you, forget what you imagined, and try not to add anything to the experience with your imagination afterwards.
Sometimes I wonder what people without vivid imaginations see the world as, and if that would be easier, or much more difficult then having this tool at my disposal.

This week's Illustration

This week we have a Photoshop filter job. Depeche Mode uses GREAT lighting, that comes up with many a colored shot. In this case I took dave, made a copy of just him and the mic stand and put it on a layer for later. One filter on the pick entire, a couple on dave to overlay, and wallah! We have a kinda abstract background with a less abstract frontman. This picture was taken by a fan whose name I probly never caught from the current tour.
