Caveat

Monday, June 5, 2000
Ms. DuMont's luck ran out, it seems. Had to happen sometime.

*****

Our newest Malkavian friend seems to have a talent for being in the right place, at the right time - and just outside of the fray, even. I hope she'll live up to her reputation during her stay in our fair Domain.

*****

Can anyone explain exactly what happened last gathering? There were eyes being plucked out, or some such nonsense, and no one's quite sure why what happened or how. Did the Keeper actually drive someone insane?

*****

Some people's children - first running with a bad crowd, and now not caring in the least what one's clan thinks - What is the world coming to?

*****

Note to von Kongisberg: You were correct. We were aware of what you were talking about, but why borrow trouble?

And on a lighter note - I was right about Gladiator. It was quite accurate in some places. I have confirmation.

*****

Does anyone like birds? Well, bird of prey, more to the point. There's a certain predatory beauty, don't you think? It's a shame so few people get to see them up close - but yet - there may be a chance to do so, much sooner than one might think.

The Toreador seem to have a particular interest in a certain dancer - Yes, all of them.

***

Shannon is now considered Wise? Well - in knowing when to duck, he's wiser than half the domain already.

***

There's this exhibit in town, but not on display yet - Anyway, a few of our more gifted friends (they see dead people) are a little - concerned about this exhibit - to put it mildly. "It will tear the city apart" was overheard. Perhaps I'm overly skeptical, but how on earth would that work? I thought the point of being dead was not dealing with all the annoying people that you once had to…

***

More portents and signs of doom from our resident Cassandra. It looks like there are a few things Malkavians do agree on. Maybe a little thought on the issue is in order.

***

And as Toronto's weather manages to approach records for Early May, thoughts turn to patios, rooftops, and promises of parties.

Watch this space.

Certain young ones with big mouths received a 'get out of jail free' card. The matter is dropped for the moment, but not if the person in question insists on continuing with the insult - Adequate standing to state one's case is one thing - openly planning with black suited businessmen is another.

PS: I'm of the opinion that prestation that's of no worth should rarely be accepted, ne?

***

Speaking of Black Suited Businessmen, there are an awful lot of them about, aren't there?

***

Are there greater forces at work, corrupting our neonates? Magicians say yes - Though I don't know. Maybe it's DOOM.

***

Two rather gifted people are missing friends of a different plane. Information would be gratefully accepted.

***

A Ventrue, only arrived recently, already wants a piece of someone else's lands. They move quickly - and less subtly than they used to.

Congratulations to Drucilla, of Clan Malkavian, the Honourable Keeper of Elysium, as of last gather.
12:05:09 PM º

What is full of hot air, and moves really quickly? If you said a balloon - no.

There's some one new in the Domain - who's of a Clan that would lean more towards fight than flight - usually. Apparently, he chose flight from his clan's age-old archnemeses - a regiment of them. He was run right out of England.

On a rail, maybe?

***

Some say the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. One thing's for certain - indifference didn't put that scuplture up on the ceiling at last gather. Want to know what's going on? Strangely enough, it wouldn't be the artists that have the whole story, but rather, the artisans...

[epbn] mail:

"For those who are playing the more observant types in Toronto:

Tonight, March 15th 2000, an unnamed red star rises above the horizon for
the first time since the dawn of man.

Storyteller Josh"

There's some impending doom to kick off your morning, kids.

Well, this is certainly interesting:

The last we all gathered, we were graced with the presence of the 'bad garou' - Apparently, the difference between them and the 'good garou' is they lack the need to slice us to ribbons.

It seems that the Ventrue were making some sort of business arrangement with them. A deal with the devil, perhaps? Let's just hope they end up better off than Keanu Reeves in that horrific movie.

Rumours for Monday, March 06, 2000.

Kindred Rumours:

The "Caveat", a new zine, which has transcended Camarilla and Anarch
borders has taken to the web. Preaching thinly veiled Anarch Rhetoric,
some Camarilla Elders are seeking a way to remove it from the internet.

The Grand Conclave of this Milennium has begin in Venice tonight. Over the
next week, elders from all over the world will debate and argue who shall
represent them under the Inner Council. Rumours of a massive change in the
current group of 7 Justicars has begun circulating amidst the Ancillae.

Miami has fallen to the Sabbat.

Mortal Rumours:

A Train derailment just south of the Canadian border in Southern Ontario
has disrupted commercial transport service in that area. Officials in the
area are being tight lipped about the accident, however rumours are
pervasive about the beginning of a criminal investigation linked to the crash.

An inquiry into the multiple deaths resulting from the Major Subway crash a
month ago has begun. Samuel Harris, TTC safety chief, had this to say:
"Currently, we have as of yet to find any evidence that points to
intentional wrong doing, but we are hopeful that we will get to the bottom
of this most unfortunate incident." Currently, the crash is attributed to
"Mental Fatigue".

The RCMP are once again in the news with a sweeping crack down upon the
Homless in Toronto. Shelters and flop-houses throughout Toronto have been
overturned in an attempt to apprehend an undisclosed individual wanted in
questioning with the attempted bombing of Times Square in New York during
New Years celebrations.

Reports of an unusual protest has begun in the Queen Street Mental Health
institute. Upwards of 12 paitients have barricaded themselves in part of
the complex and are staging a hunger strike. As of press time, we hadn't
received comment from officials there.

Rumours for Monday February 21, 2000.

Kindred Rumours:

A new 'zine being published somewhere on the west coast of the United
States is beginning to gain popularity between kindred neonates of the
Anarchs. Calling itself the "Caveat", the topics within its covers range
from diatribes of a personal nature to step-by-step instructions on how to
undermine a Camarilla Domain. So far, its exposure on the neonites of the
Camarilla has been rather limited.

The Camarilla Brujah of North America are on the move, and are beginning to
be vocal about a "Tremere Plot to undermine their fraternity with their
Anarch brethren". Specifics are unknown, but hostility between the two
clans are known to be on the rise through out the new world.

Mortal Rumours:

Triple Homicide/Suicide?! Three known drug traffickers shot and killed
each other in a extremely short shootout today. One unnamed source with
the Metro Police said "It's the weirdest thing I've seen in a long time.
They look like they shot each other in the head simultaneously during a
drug transaction."

The Provincial Tories have made a bold stand against the upcoming
Atrocities of War exhibit coming to the AGO in May. Citing the macabre
images, Cam Jackson, Ontario Tourism Minister said: "We feel that these
images of death, mayhem and cruelty are not what we want visitors to think
of when they think of our province."

The remodeling of the Eatons Center has finally finished. Featured to the
new façade on the uber-structure on Yonge is a new chrome and white motif,
with an ultra-futurasitic flare. Design critics are praising the
"hopefulness" that the structure promises. This change is yet another
initiative of the Toronto Civic council to gentrify the Yonge and Dundas area.

Rumours for Monday February 7, 2000.

Kindred Rumours:

The uncharacteristically fractious relations of the Toronto Brujah and
their clanmates from out side the domain have improved dramatically. When
asked about what has transpired in Toronto as of late, one Topeka, Kansas
Brujah said:

"The fellas in Toronto really got a raw deal. They were set up hard, and
if it weren't for some of the cooler heads in our clan, they might have
been lynched. We now know who set this up, and believe me when I say:
Payback Is Coming."

A Vote of confidence for Charles Ship, Seneschal of Toronto, has been
awarded via a point of status handed down to him from DesLauriers. Charles
Ship is now known as "Valued" for his selfless service to the Domain of
Toronto.

Prince DesLauriers of Toronto has recently announced a Joint Treaty between
the Camarilla Domains of Toronto, London and Buffalo. To halt the Sabbat
aggression from the Sabbat held Domain of Hamilton. A call for information
on the movements and numbers of the Sabbat in Hamilton has been issued.
"This is the first in several planed Co-operational movements between our
three cities in these dark times

Mortal Rumours:

Audrey Kingston, reputed financial guru, began her "Big Payout" Book Tour
and series of lectures today. Renowned for her instincts in the investment
market and her uncanny knack to predict up and coming business trends.

An Exhibit on the Atrocities of War is coming to the AGO, and it is causing
no end of controversy. Macabre images of death, torture, loss, and pain
created by some of the worlds most renowned artists are due for Toronto
come late May.

40 Hamilton youth were killed and 10 injured in a bizarre warehouse fire.
Police are investigating. Police Chief Forest made this statement:

"The underground "Rave" scene has claimed 40 more lives. The deadly
combination of overcrowding and the use of illicit drugs such as "Ecstasy"
was the main cause of this tragedy. I urge parents to keep their kids away
from this dangerous subculture."
