In 1999 TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) aired a TV series called "Kowai Douwa"
or "Scary Fairy Tales." The episodes were 30mins long, though most stories ran for
four weeks, making them movie-length. One story was a twisted version of Cinderella,
and another is the story of Oyayubihime ("Thumb Princess") -- except of course,
they're nothing like the originals.
In this version of Oyayubihime, Saeko is a high school girl with a crush on a boy
in her class named Yuuichi. She becomes obsessed with him, and a strange man at a
flea-market gives her a red liquid, telling her that if she splashes it on Yuuichi,
all will be as she wishes. Saeko finally gets the courage to confess her love to
Yuuichi -- but when she gets rejected, she splashes the liquid on him.
The next thing she knows, Yuuichi is suddenly doll-sized, at 6cm high.
The boy has no feelings at all for Saeko, and as she takes him home to keep in her
bedroom drawer, he's pissed. Saeko desperately wants Yuuichi to love him, and tries
her hardest to take care of him like a little toy, but he doesn't like her at all.
As time goes on, she begins to realize that she can do whatever she wants to him,
and things begin to get mean, as she tortures him and even shrinks another girl in
her class to torture. I don't want to give too much away (because now the movie is
subtitled for everyone!) but in the end, it's not so much that Saeko is a bad person,
but that she became blinded by love, and did some very bad things.
It's a great movie with lots of special effects (a "giant" Saeko with her "tiny"
little Yuuichi) and features a young Chiaki Kuriyama (from "Kill Bill") in the lead.
Though it's definitely not for young children, it did air on normal Japanese TV.
"Oyayubihime" was only released on VHS (before DVDs became popular), and I bought
my copy some years ago. Today it is out-of-print, and no longer for sale anywhere.
Because of this, I have decided to release it in order for people to see it
(otherwise no one would ever be able to see it). However if it becomes available
again, I will immediately close this page down.
IT'S SUBTITLED NOW!
But the BEST news is that there has been a fan-subtitling project going on, and the
entire movie is now completely SUBTITLED IN ENGLISH! Even the interview with
Chiaki afterwards has been subtitled, so now everyone can view the movie, and know
exactly what's going on! Thanks must go to Lesterf1020, who paid a lot of money
out of his own pocket to hire a professional translator (I'm not fluent enough yet),
and then timed everything. I provided the raw, and some translation and QC help so
that the subtitle would look as professional as possible. This was a not-for-profit
effort, and we both spent a lot of money on it because it's such a great movie!
DOWNLOAD & FILE INFO. IMPORTANT -- PLEASE READ!
There are two main files you will need to view the movie:
* Oyayubihime.avi (the main, large video file with the movie unsubtitled, 1.8GB)
* Oyayubihime.srt (the matching small subtitle file)
SOFT-SUBS
The video file (Oyayubihime.avi) is in Xvid format, and is NOT HARD-SUBTITLED.
This way if you want to watch the movie "pure" (without any subtitles getting in the
way), you can. If you want to watch the movie subtitled though, just download the
matching subtitle file (Oyayubihime.srt) and put it in the same folder as the
video file (don't change the filenames -- other than the extentions, they must have
the same filename).
However for the computer to "recognize" the soft-subs and display the subtitles,
if you haven't done so already, you will probably need to download and install a
short program on your computer for displaying "soft-subs." One popular (and free)
one is DirectVobSub. If you download and install DirectVobSub on your computer,
then most computer video players (including Windows Media Player) will show the
subtitles when you click on the video file to play the movie (assuming the subtitle
file is in the same folder as the video file, and their names are the same).
If you're having problems making the subtitles appear, please make sure you have
DirectVobSub installed on your computer, and do a google search for terms such as
"soft subs" "help viewing" and "Directvobsub." PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ME WITH QUESTIONS
ABOUT HOW TO GET IT TO WORK. There are plenty of excellent websites and forums with
this info that you can find by doing google searches. One such excellent website is
www.videohelp.com. Almost all Japanese drama fansub groups now use soft-subs, and
everybody has to learn how at first. Another website you might want to check out is
D-addicts.com, which is a site for discussion of issues relating to Japanese dramas
(but since most Japanese drama fansub groups release their translations as soft-subs
now, you might be able to find FAQs there or ask for help).
THE FILES ARE SPLIT
Because the main video file (Oyayubihime.avi) is so large (1.8GB), I had to
split it into FOUR PARTS using a program called "HJSplit.EXE." HJSplit is a small
freeware program (spyware-free, and you don't even install it -- you just run it).
It's used all the time by Japanese drama fansub groups, and is totally freeware.

TO DOWNLOAD AND VIEW THE MOVIE:Please make sure you have READ the information ABOVE! It's important!DOWNLOAD LINKS UPDATED MAY 2008There are now TWO WAYS to get the Oyayubihime Movie:Megaupload, or a new Direct Download Site (scroll down a bit)

MEGAUPLOAD:With Megaupload you can typically only download one large file per day.
This means after downloading each of the large video parts, you will probably
have to wait 12-24 hours before Megaupload will let you download again. If you
know how to change your IP address, you can "fool" Megaupload and not have to
wait. If you don't know how to do this, simply wait 12-24 hours and you will
be able to download again. Because of this, I suggest you download the small
subtitle (srt) file first (it's small, so there won't be a wait if you download
it BEFORE getting a large video part).
You will need to download five files from Megaupload:
(1) Oyayubihime.avi.001 480MB (Part of video -- Use HJSPLIT.EXE to join together)

Note: You cannot view the individual parts by themselves. You can only view the
movie once you've downloaded ALL FOUR VIDEO PARTS (001-004) and JOINED them
together with HJSplit.
* Download HJSPLIT.EXE at the author's website or directly on Megaupload here.
* Run HJSplit.EXE and "JOIN" the 4 parts together. This will create a new,
complete video file called simply: Oyayubihime.aviNEW DIRECT DOWNLOAD SITE:

video on his site for direct download! The video is complete (you don't have
to piece it together with HJSPLIT), so it's one large 1.8GB file. You can

RIGHT-CLICK/SAVE AS to get the complete video file Oyayubihime.avi (Complete, 1.8GB).

Save both files to the SAME FOLDER!SUBTITLES and Watching the Movie
* Download the subtitle file (Oyayubihime.srt).
Save it to the same folder where you have "Oyayubihime.avi".Do not change the filenames! In the same folder somewhere, you should
have both "Oyayubihime.avi" and "Oyayubihime.srt".
* You then will have the complete Oyayubihime movie and matching subtitle file.
* For the subtitles to work, you must first download and install a free program
called "DirectVobSub" on your computer. Do a google search to find it. It's
freeware, small, and won't harm your computer (no spyware), and is what
everyone uses to view soft-subs.
* Once you have installed DirectVobSub on your computer -- and if both
"Oyayubihime.avi" and "Oyayubihime.srt" are in the SAME FOLDER -- then you
can see the subtitles. If you want to watch the video WITHOUT subtitles,
just move the subtitle file (oyayubihime.srt) into a different folder.
* NOTE: The subtitle file (Oyayubihime.srt) is really just a small TEXT file,
and once downloaded, can easily be opened and read just by clicking on it.
So even if you don't want to add subtitles to the video, you can click on
it and have a look to understand what's happening in the movie and what's
being said (it's tiny and takes almost no time to download). It's a complete
translation of the movie and interview!
* DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING FOR HELP on downloading, viewing, or getting the
subtitles to work. I WILL NOT answer such emails. Everything you need to
know is here on this page if you READ IT CAREFULLY. And for more detailed

Not manga, but Giantess Videos. A company in Japan made three live-action, Giantess-themed adult
videos (each with a different actress), and these are clips from the first one. Some things to note:
* The clips are 1MB-4MB in size, and downloading just ONE will use all the alloted bandwidyh for
an hour. If you can't connect to the sites, or you get an error, just try later, and keep trying.
The sites DO work.
* The clips are in MPEG4, using the XVID codec. You must have the XVID codec installed on your
computer to view the clips. You can download XVID for free at www.xvid.org (PC or Mac). Do NOT
