2001 quad county fastpitch rules addendum
official rule book- NFHS(highschool) rule book unless superseded by league rules
playing age- a player's age for any year is their age on jan. 1st of that year.
game ball - 10 & under - 11" A.S.A or O.H.S.A.A. optic yellow
all other leagues - 12" A.S.A or O.H.S.A.A optic yellow
game length - 6 innings - 10 & under. all other leagues are 7 innings.
extra innings will be played if game is tied and hasn't exceeded the time limit.
time limit - 2 1/2 hours for day games or lighted night games in all leagues after june 1st
evening games rule - games must start by 6:15
no new innings after 8:00 pm (before june 1st)
no new innings after 8:30 pm (after june 1st)
a game is official if regulation innings have been played or if time limit/eve. rules limit reached -regardless of # of innings played . ties count.
any rain affected or rain ended game must be 3 innings in length to be official if the full time limit was not able to be played. scores will revert to last full inning in a rain ended game. any game not 3 full innings will be washed out and will restart from the beginning
playing time rules - all players at a game must play a minimum of 6 def. outs in the field (doesn't have to be consecutive) in a regulation game. all players must be put into the field by the 3rd inning. if a player does not get into a game for 6 def. outs because time/rain shortened game, that player will start the next game and play at least the first two innings of the next game
warm up pitches- limited to 5 warm up pitches - before&during an inning
sliding - sliding is alllowed in all leagues. there is no pnealty for not sliding in the 10 & under. thee will be a penalty for not sliding in the other leagues if hard contact is made ( umpiers discretion)
short handed rule - a player may be brought up from a
lower league to play if you do not have the minimum # of players. cannot be brought from within the same league. she may not play the field if a regular players arrives late, but will remain in the batting order if play has already started.. SHE MAY NOT PITCH!!!
unlimited run rule - unlimited runs in the last inning for all leagues. last inning is determined by the umpire
chattering rule - catchers are not permitted to chatter. no negative chatter or chatter towards a player is permitted.
protests- must be made immediatelyl. a 25.00 protest fee is to be given to the umpire in charge and the exact game situation noted. a protest is to be formed from the commissioner of the communities not involved in the game. all parties involved in game ( umpires & coaches) should report to their league commissioner who will forward it to the protest committee. a coach may withdra his/her protest at any time until the umpire leaves the field at the conclusion of the game. umpires will check with protesting coach upon conclusion game to see if coach wishes to withdraw protest. the $25.00 is refundable only if protest is upheld.
