Introduction The purpose of this site is twofold. First, I have found there is a lack of information on the web regarding recurrent tumors of the parotid gland, presented from the patients perspective. I have therefore put together information from my own two parotidectomies as well as links to information I have found helpful. I've included my own view of the medical procedures, description of postoperative complications, surgical and pathological reports I obtained from the hospital, and hospital and doctor billings. Secondly, since there is a good chance my own parotid tumor will come back a third time, I am hoping to gain information for my own benefit over the next couple years. for the exchange of information regarding parotid gland tumors. I
would encourage you to both ask questions and post information for
everyone's benefit. While these tumors are relatively rare, the two ENT surgeons I consulted here in Greenville, SC each perform about one
parotidectomy a month. Extrapolating, across the U.S.A. there
