Basic chords in CGdg tuning
In the CGdg tuning you can play in the key of C. The basic chords in the key C major are
- C 0-0-2-0
- F 0-2-3-(0) or 0-2-3-2 if you do not like open g string in F chord
- and G 2-0-0-0 or G7 2-0-3-0
For some chordal way of fingerpicking you can use the three strings chord shapes you know from mandolin or tenor banjo tuned in fifths.
- C 4-5-5-0
- F 5-5-7-(0)
- G 2-4-5-0 or G7 5-4-5-0
- C 7-9-10-0
- F 9-10-10-(0)
- G 7-7-9-0 or G7 7-10-9-0
- C 12-12-14-0
- F 12-14-15-(0)
- G 11-12-12-0 or G7 11-10-12-0
