The material below was originally published as a series of three articles in the Capital PC User Group (CPCUG) publication, the Monitor. At the time of his diagnosis the author, Paul Shapiro, was First Vice-President of the 5500 member group, having previously served as Secretary, Vice-President at Large, Capital Area Vice-President, and Maryland Vice-President.

The articles were published as MicroLetters that Paul Shapiro authored monthly. These were published in October, 1997, March, 1998, and August, 1998, and have been slightly edited here. Examine the MicroLetter index to some of his many other articles.
