The long awaited fifth book finally arrived, with the promise of ‘someone will die’
from the author.
Harry is back at school, but he is on his guard. With Voldemort
back Harry is drafted into ‘The Order Of The Phoenix’, a secret society which battles
against Voldemort.
With the Ministry of Magic breathing down his neck, Harry needs to tread carefully around a new teacher - Prof. Umbridge, who as been appointed by the ministry. Miss Umbridge (and the ministry) is determined to rid rumours about Voldemort coming back, and more or less shake the school up.
Harry knows he must avoid the clutches of the aforementioned teacher, but he fails dismally. Starting an illegal defence group is perhaps not the best way to start off, and having a girlfriend certainly won’t keep him safe.
However, the protection soon runs out, Harry is back facing Voldemort and his cronies yet again, but will he survive?
This book perhaps is possibly the weakest in series, it concentrates on more explanations about the magical world than more action. However the information that is given explains a lot, and connects the previous four books together. These explanations will push its rating up by one mark, however I thoroughly recommend that you read the previous four books before you start this one. HPNet Rating 4/5
