In 1992 PM Ponies acquired Severn Gambol as a four year old stallion. That purchase began a commitment to the excellence of Welsh ponies that continues today. The farm is owned by Peggy Marshall and, with the talent of Susan Weigand in the show ring, PM Ponies has been successful in breeding, training and showing ponies that have won in hand, driving, and in the hunter pony ring.

In 2004, Gambol earned his Sire Legion of Merit award.  The Sire Legion of Merit is awarded by the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America to stallions whose get win a total of 2,500 points with at least five individual offspring obtaining 300 points each.  Gambol owes his Sire LOM to the following ponies:

PM Moonshine (Shiney) out of Glyncadno Moonglow

PM Sterling, out of Brynmawr Springtide

PM Everything Nice out of Alliance Spyce

PM Legacy out of Alliance Spyce

PM Spyderman out of Alliance Spyce

William Bowling’s Gameboy out of Gayfield's Call Yo’ Mama!

Shiney, Sterling, Nice and Legacy have all shown and won in Halter and performance classes.  All are excellent hunter ponies. Spyderman and Gameboy are still young for performance but have won many ribbons in Halter and both have been Supreme Geldings.  Gameboy was the 2003 WPCSA National Champion 2 and Under Gelding.  Nice, Legacy, Spyderman and Gameboy have all shown in the USEF Pony Hunter Breeding ring and have come home with major wins.  These six offspring of Gambol’s are the legs of The Sire LOM award.

11.2 hand Section A Welsh Stallion

Severn Gambol (LOM) is a Section A Welsh (Mountain Pony) Stallion. He is a winner at home as well as in the show ring. He earned his Individual Legion of Merit (LOM) in 1996 at the age of 8.  His versatility and his wonderful disposition have enabled him to be a friend and a teacher to his young riders. Gambol's winning qualities are also shining through in his foals.  At 11.2 hands, Gambol is the perfect size to cross on larger horse mares to produce elegant, sensible and great moving large pony hunters.
