The PMS, although being the societies of The Pope, they belong to all the Bishops and the entire People of God. The Four (4) Branches of The One Institution of PMS are:

The Society for the Propagation of Faith (SPF) founded by Marie-Pauline Jaricot in 1822, Lyons, France and raised to Pontifical status in 1922 by Pius, XI to foster interest in universal evangelization, to promote spiritual, and material aid among local churches, and to promote exchange of apostolic personnel.

The Society of The Holy Childhood (SHC), founded by Bishop de Forbin-Janson 1843, Nancy, France and raised to Pontifical status in 1922 by Pius XI, to help teachers to progressively awaken missionary awareness among children (under 14 years of age), to encourage them to share their faith and material goods with children of more needy regions and churches and to foster vocations from an early age.

The Society of St. Peter the Apostle (SPA), founded by Stephanie and Jeanne Bigard mother and daughter in 1889, Caen, France and raised to Pontifical status in 1922 by Pius XI to increase awareness among Christians of the importance of local clergy in mission territories, to invite them to collaborate by spiritual and material means in the formation of candidates to the priesthood and consecrated life;

The "Missionary Union" (PMU) of Priests, Religious and Others engaged in the pastoral ministry of the Church, founded by Fr.Paolo Manna, in 1916, Parma, Italy and raised to Pontifical status in 1956, by Pius XII,  to foster missionary consciousness and formation of priests, seminarians, members of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life and their candidates, as well as lay missionaries (e.g. catechists) directly involved in universal missionary activity. It is like the soul of SPF, SHC and SPA since PMU?s members are geared to fostering a missionary spirit and greater cooperation.

I would like to join the  following societies of the Pontifical Mission Societies (Please tick in the boxes provided above.)

Enrolment fee for each society: RM5/S$5/B$5 for adults and RM1/S$1/B$1 for children up to 14 years old, renewable yearly. All fees and donations are payable to Pontifical Mission Societies ? MSB.
