ENERGY & TRANSPORTATION:
National Priorities, Regional Planning, and Funding.
Please join us for an evening program on world energy; the role that the transportation sector plays in dictating supply and demand for energy; and initiatives aimed at promoting alternatives to our petroleum-based transportation system.
At 6 p.m., James Motavalli, editor of e-magazine and author of Forward Drive; Breaking Gridlock; and Feeling the Heat, discuss his work and sign copies of his books.
At 6:30 p.m., Kai Wu will follow with his interesting, engaging and very informative presentation on world energy.
At 7:00 p.m., Congressman John Olver, the ranking Democrat on Transportation and Treasury Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee with make opening comments. Mr. Olver will then participate in a moderated panel discussion with regional planners, and transportation officials. The discussion will be enriched by dialogue with members of the audience.
The goal of the program is to promote a public exchange of ideas on how to work as a community to find healthy and sustainable ways to live using less petroleum.
