While this should be one of the happiest times in a couples life, it is in reality one of the most feared. A thousand decisions, and each one more important than the last.
One of the most important decisions you will make is "Who is going to perform the wedding ceremony?" In the past it was the family Priest, Minister or Rabbi. However, today, we see a trend towards the independent Wedding Officient. This is someone that the family generally does not know, but will have a profound impact on the young couple and their families.
This is where I enter the picture. My name is Reverend Charles Nagel and I perform weddings here in Central California. I travel as far north as Merced and as far south as Bakersfield.
There is a lot of preperation that goes into a wedding. I spend about 40 hours of research, travel, printiing anad rehearsal for every wedding I perform, even if I am seen by those in attendance for only about 15 minutes or so.
Most Officiants charge between $150.00 and $500.00 for their services.
Next to the bride and groom, the minister or officiant is the most important person at the wedding because if the caterer does not show up, or the flowers do not arrive in time, at the end of the day you are still married. However, if the minister or officiant does not show up, at the end of the day all you have had was a really expensive party.
Because this is your day, you get to make all the decisions concerning your ceremony. I have a large selection of ceremonies, rites and vaows to select from, and if we cannot find something, we will write for you.
