Entry for February 27, 2007: Finding a Cure for Parkinson's...
photo

It has been said, there will be a cure for PD within ten years.

You got to have Heart. Be passionate about the things you love to do.

It is, this passion, that will set you free.  Some things you can't do as well anymore....this might be true.

My passion is Tennis, and when I am on, I feel that I am defying the limitations of my disease. When I do I win. I win because I feel the trill of being active.

When I move effortlessly to make a play, it is like I am bypassing all the bodily disconnects to the brain. To be able to respond without a hitch. It is truely a great feeling.

We the people with Parkinson's must learn to move without thinking! Only a PWP can understand the fustration and agony of having to think about each step you take.

So don't think, just do it! The Unity Walk 2007

PARKINSON'S DISEASE (PD) ... A FORMIABLE CHALLENGE ... WITH OUT YOUR MEDS YOU LOSE WITH YOUR MEDS YOU WIN...

THE WINTER SEASON BRINGS GREATER CHALLENGES. I HAVE BEEN LOSING LATELY...MY MEDS HAVE NOT BEEN SO PREDICTABLE.

THIS MOURNING I WOKE UP IN A PANIC. THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS GOING TO GET READY IN TIME FOR WORK ON-TIME.

YOU ONLY MOVE AT A QUARTER OF YOUR PRE-PD SPEED.  MY LEFT HAND WAS SHAKING, I WAS OVERWELMED, AND NOBODY UNDERSTOOD THE "SHAPE I WAS IN".

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM ... DIDN'T YOU TAKE YOUR MED'S?  DAMN GIRL "CAN'T YOU SEE" I'M JUST TRYING TO KEEP MY HEAD ABOVE WATER"             (THE INSANITY OF THIS MOURNINGS MIND-BODY DISCONNECTS.)..

MY BODILY MOVEMENTS WERE BEYOND MY CONTROL. YOU SEE IT IS NOT ALWAY ABOUT TAKING YOUR MEDS....ITS ABOUT TAKING YOUR MEDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NUTURING ELEMENTS OF YOUR NIGHTIME SLEEP OR LACK THEIR OF, OR TOO MUCH....WHATEVER.

JUST WHEN YOU HAVE IT FIGURED OUT, YOU DON'T!

" BUT  LIFE'S BEEN GOOD TO ME, SO FAR"... WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

THIS IS MY BLOG....ENJOY THE RIDE.....IT IS A ROLLER COASTER... I LIKE ROLLER-COASTERS. I GUESS NOW I HAVE TOO.

SO NOW I AM GOING DOWN BUT MY WIFE GOT ME BACK ON TRACK THIS MOURNING....SHE'S A GOOD WIFE SHE IS MORE THEN WILLING TO  RIDE THE ROLLER-COASTER WITH ME.

SO THIS IS MY INTRO....NOT THE WAY I THOUGHT IT WOULD START.

I'M 49 AND I HAD PD FOR 4 YEARS NOW...."AND THIS IS MY HOMETIME".

SORRY COULDN'T RESIST BRUCE SPINGSTEEN'S "BORN IN THE USA" SONG "MY HOMETIME" WHERE HE STARTS OFF WITH "I'M 49.... AND THIS IS MY HOMETIME.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG.

I AM THE LUCKY ONE. MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAND PICKED ANY BETTER.

I LOVE THEM ALL...I TRULY DO. MY LIFE'S PUZZLE OF A HUNDRED PIECES IS JUST LIKE THE PICTURE ABOVE....WITH ONE MISSING PIECE IT WOULD NOT BE COMPLETE.

AS MUCH AS PD HAS BROKEN ME .... MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS ALIKE..THEY ALL BEEN THERE FOR ME. TOGETHER THE PICTURE IS REAL A BIT SUR-REAL BUT TOGETHER MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.... MY DRIVE IS STRONG. MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS GIVE ME THE DRIVE TO BE STRONG WILLED.

SPECIAL THANKS TO LORI FOR GIVING ME THE  INSPIRATION TO START MY BLOG.
