The Building Renovations @ 367 Lyell Avenue
Since Rochester Food Not Bombs began it’s lease on it’s new location at 367 Lyell Avenue, we’ve been renovating the building for the purpose of having a commercial kitchen and refrigeration facilities, bulk food storage and public assembly for fundraising events and food distribution. Rochester Food Not Bombs has received grant funding, donation, coordinated fundraising events and rent credit from the landlord for building renovation work. There was definitely a lot more work than we expected; but with hard work and an aggressive grant writing campaign, we’re making it happen!

Food Not Bombs Chess Tournament
Saturday, August 2, 2003 at noon, Washington Square Park, $6/8 donation
Food Not Bombs, the local food cupboard and free meal program, will hold an outdoors downtown chess tournament fundraiser. In coalition with the Chess Center, FNB’s Chess Tournament will be on Saturday, August 2nd in Washington Square Park at the corner of Broad Street and S. Clinton. The tournament will begin @ noon and end at around 4pm. Prizes and refreshments will be provided.
Rain location for this event will be @ 367 Lyell Ave. The tournament will have youth (13 & under) and adult (14 & over) divisions. Suggested donation for the event is $6 for youth and $8 for adults. Although Food Not Bombs would really appreciate donations, no one will be turned away for lack of money.
