Rose Anne's
Cabin & Continental Breakfast

Rose Anne's Cabin & Continental Breakfast features the ultimate in privacy and luxury for a peaceful and restful get-away.

The idea for Rose Anne's Cabin was born after our own trip to Ireland in September and October of 2000. We rented a car and toured the circumference of the island, staying in Bed and Breakfasts and literally living among the Irish people for the entire trip. It was the dream of a lifetime, like coming home though I had never been there.

When we returned home to Mt. Ida we were refreshed, fulfilled and ready to reenter our lives. Rose Anne has always been a gracious hostess and loves to meet and visit with people. We considered our own experience and "Rose Anne's Cabin and Continental Breakfast" was born.

We believe God gave the land of Canaan to Abraham and his descendents because it was strategically placed along trade routes leading to Europe, Africa and Asia. They were able to greet travelers, host them, water their camels, and offer food, lodging and rest to strengthen them for their journey. Although we are not on a famous trade route, our cabin hosts a lot of weary travelers. Some arrive in need of time alone, some enjoy visiting, some need to rest and spend time with God.

We certainly respect your privacy. It is an excellent honeymoon retreat. Our cabin is smoke-free and pet-free because some of our guests are allergic to them. Please consider us for your quiet get-away. Sitting on the cabin porch and watching deer eating grass is a restful way to spend a quiet hour or so.

On Saturday nights the pace picks up around here, but in an old-time way. From May thru October on Saturday nights, just two miles from the cabin, we have free live music shows on the Front Porch Stage at the Courthouse Square in Mt. Ida. The acoustic jam session starts at 3 pm and the live stage show is 7 pm to 9 pm. Usually the jam starts up again after the shows. Bring your lawn chairs and acoustic instruments and join in the fun with the other 300 to 500 guests. Visit the Front Porch at www.FrontPorchStage.org to get a schedule of the free shows.

Also within minutes of the cabin is Lake Ouachita and the resorts, the Womble Trail (one of the top ten hiking and biking trails in the world), canoe float trips on the Ouachita River and it's float camps. Montgomery County is the Quartz crystal capitol of the world, with quartz crystal retail and wholesale shops and active mines open to amateur diggers. Hot Springs is only 37 miles to our east on Hwy. 270. Mena is the same distance to the west.

If your travels take you through the Ouachita Mountains, please stop by and spend some time with us.
