"Scarabs" - AKA "dung beetles" - do fit in with the Illuminati's worship of ancient Egypt and its pyramid schemes. "Scarabbean" does fit with the observation by Common Cause that, "Tennessee is the Cayman Islands of the campaign finance system, similar to the money-laundering paradise of the Caribbean." And "Scarab" is incidentally the name of the offshore "racing" boats preferred by "Pirates" (incidentally the name of Scarabbean's underground newsletter) and narco-bootleggers in real-world and on Miami Vice, and the owner of Scarab Boats was gunned down at his manufacturing plant in Florida. of course, the most persistent story is that initiates spend their senior

coffins, recount their personal and sexual history to the other 14 chosen
ones. The death-centered imagery, the injunction to initiates that they
must "die to the barbarian world" and be reborn in the Elysian company of
the elect of "The Order," as they call it, is what makes Skull and Bones
as radically different from a college fraternity as the Gambino family is
from the "hunting and fishing club" that was their nominal headquarters.
The devil figure pulled them into a white tent in the courtyard where, we
think, they found their femurs and emerged with what looked like a thigh
bone, although it was impossible to tell whether it once belonged to a human
or not. They were forced face-to-face with a shocking tableau: a guy holding
what seemed like a butcher knife, wearing a kind of animal-skin "barbarian"
look, stood over what seemed to be a woman covered in 'fake' blood and not
much else. The neophyte then approached a skull a few feet away from the
knife-wielder-and-victim tableau. The neophyte knelt and kissed the skull,
at which point the guy with the knife knelt and cut the throat of the prone

Skull and Boners
First, let's take a brief look at America's top secret society at university. Then we shall have something to compare to UT's homegrown secret society. Coincidentally, a senior bureaucrat in the Bush Jr White House, Ed Ingle, "(deputy assistant to the president for cabinet affairs") is a former president of UT SGA (Class of '83). Is he a Dung-Eater, too? Odds are, he is. (Please email the webmaster if you know the answer.) Or perhaps some questions about September 11 when his boss committed terrorism against the American people and treason against American law? Like, how did it feel when his boss abandoned him at the White House to possibly die by American Airlines Flight 93 (before Bush ordered it shot down) while Bush et al were safe with his brother Jeb in fascist Florida (and taking Cipro 6 weeks before the first anthrax attack)? Another secret society, Bohemian Club at Bohemian Grove, an all-white "Satanic-type" cult of human sacrifice, including the elite "leaders" and presidents (including Ike, Nixon, Reagan, Bushes), that meet's annually at camp among giant redwoods in Califonia, shall be dissected for your horror and entertainment. Note that secret societies are NOT mere fraternities and/or sororities, which are theoretically open to the public within certain conditions such as branch of education or grade-point average. Secret societies allow active membership from both men and women, and also allow faculty to take active roles in these "student" organizations. Oftentimes the most "powerful" members of student "government" are coincidentally members of a secret society, and are usually elected to student government AFTER being invited to join a secret society. Oftentimes the most vocal whistleblowers are members of student government who realize they are "out of the loop" when decisions are prearranged before debate or "representative" voting by student government. The elite group that promises money and power to Joshua Jackson and Paul Walker is The Skulls. Modeled after Yale's Skulls & Bones, which incidentally counts amongst its members former President Bush and son George W. Bush (hmmm...), The Skulls takes the audience into a world where power is predetermined and elite members "live and die by the rules." Jackson plays Luke, a well-rounded and intelligent student at an Ivy League-like university, whose only downfall appears to be his lack of a trust fund and breeding. All of this changes when Luke and privileged classmate Caleb (Walker) are invited into a secret association. Their reasons for joining are completely different: free law school for Luke, and the dominating pressure of Caleb's father (Craig T. Nelson), an influential judge bidding for a seat of the Supreme Court of Skulls. Those reasons become skewed when Luke's roommate Will (Hill Harper) is murdered while investigating the Skulls for the college paper. Enter the proverbial clichés. Was it mentioned that initiates can never disassociate themselves from the group? Of course, it is different when they are removed by the group, "permanently." The film takes a wrong turn after Will's death. Director Rob Cohen misses an opportunity to show the characters' inner struggles, and instead takes the viewer on a road very common to moviegoers, good vs. evil, poor against rich, and so forth. Writer John Progue hardly does enough for the characters of Luke and Caleb. He shows no real direction and drive for their actions. Progue's formula of an action movie is in full effect here, right down to the girlfriend who "knew it" all along (Leslie Bibb). Even the ending is plucked right from action films of the past. Despite the lack of character development, the viewer cannot help but cheer for Jackson and Walker - indeed, they are also very nice to look at. The viewer should go see The Skulls knowing it is not Oscar material, but simply and predictably a feel-good action flick - certainly not original screenwriting, but somewhat entertaining, a good Saturday night movie. Bush's grandfather derived a portion of his personal fortune through his affiliation with a Nazi-controlled bank. John Loftus, a former prosecutor in the Justice Department's Nazi War Crimes Unit, said his research found that Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a principal in the Union Banking Corp. in Manhattan in the late 1930s and the 1940s. Leading Nazi industrialists secretly owned the bank at that time, Loftus said, and were moving money into it through a second bank in Holland even after the United States declared war on Germany. The bank was liquidated in 1951, Loftus said, and Bush's grandfather and great-grandfather received $1.5 million from the bank as part of that dissolution. "That's where the Bush family fortune came from: It came from the Third Reich," Loftus said. Loftus made his remarks during a speech as part of the Sarasota Reading Festival. Both incumbent President Bush and likely Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., are Yale graduates, 1968 and 1966 respectively, and are also members of Yale's secret society Skull and Bones. Each year, the exclusive society "taps" 15 distinguished third-year Yale undergraduates to participate in an initiation ceremony that "has bonded diplomats, media moguls, bankers and spies into a lifelong, multi-generational fellowship far more influential than any fraternity," wrote Ron Rosenbaum, class of 1968, in a New York Observer article. "What's so staggering about the fact that the two presidential candidates come from this particular society is that this is a tiny club – there are only 800 living members (in the whole country,)" said Alexandra Robbins, who authored an exposé on the society, Secrets of the Tomb. Skull and Bones typically selects its new members, or Bonesmen, by drawing from distinguished student leaders of campus organizations. Kerry was tapped because he was president of the political union. But Bush was likely tapped because of his family's legacy with Skull and Bones as both Bush's father and grandfather were members, Robbins said. Robbins, a Yale graduate of 1998, whose next book is an undercover look into sorority life, said she became interested in writing a book on Skull and Bones when Bush ran for president in 2000. She has interviewed over 100 Bonesmen for her book, even though Bonesmen are traditionally sworn to secrecy (even the rosters are secret). This presidential election will be the first Bonesman versus Bonesman contest, though the society's interests will not necessarily be split, Robbins said. "I've talked to several Bonesman and they view it as a win-win situation. There'll be hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions. Of course, some of them have their political leanings … though, as a group, they're going to be happy no matter what – because automatically, they'll have a connection in the White House for the next four years," she said. Though there is some speculation that Kerry and Bush may have participated in Skull and Bones initiation rites together since they attended school at roughly the same time, this is highly unlikely because only 15 Yale seniors are Bonesman at any given year because the previous 15 would have already graduated. Donald Etra, Yale class of 1968 and a Los Angeles-area lawyer who was in Skull and Bones with Bush, said Kerry and Bush didn't know each other at Yale. Etra is currently representing Andrew Dyck, a UCLA classics professor on trial for charges of sending harmful materials to a minor, and represented Rabbi Chaim Seidler-Feller, the director of UCLA Hillel, in a separate case. Bush's campaign declined to comment on his involvement with the society. A spokesman for the Kerry campaign was not available for comment. Etra, who said he has known Bush for 40 years and remains good friends with the president, said it doesn't hurt to have connections through Skull and Bones. "You never know who's going to be the next president of the United States," he said. Though Skull and Bones is [allegedly] not the wealthiest senior society at Yale [Trillionaire George Bush Sr recently deposited a check to Yale of a $90-Million donation/bribe], it is by far the most influential and powerful, Robbins said. "The whole purpose is to get members into positions of power and then get them to hire more Bonesmen. Bush has done a good job of that; Bush has nearly 10 in his assemblage of advisers," she said. The power Skull and Bones' members seem to wield over so many domains, including government and corporations, has spawned much speculation and many conspiracy theories. For instance, Skull and Bones has been tied to theories linking it to the Central Intelligence Agency, the Bay of Pigs invasion and U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Even its secret initiation ceremonies and other activities run amid wild rumors. "A lot of the conspiracy theories are blown out of proportion, though they are sometimes based on some truths," Robbins said. "When the new seniors come back, the first thing they do is recount their sexual history, from their first masturbation to present, for an entire evening." Other facets of the secrecy surrounding the society include the private island and a "Tomb" where Skull members convene for meetings and activities. Its "Tap Day" results were once published on the front page of the New York Times, according to Yale archives, but rosters are now secret. Robbins was the first non-member to infiltrate the society, partially because she was a member of Scroll and Key, another secret society. The Bonesmen thought she was on their side, she said, but some were openly aggressive. "I've realized that members of the society take some things so seriously," she said, referring to threats made to her by a Bonesman who said he would destroy her career. Skull and Bones' secretive nature was the inspiration for the 2000 movie "The Skulls." "The movie was loosely based, but it did encapsulate all the notions that society thought about them – they believed everything in that movie," Robbins said.
