SIMPLE LIVING OKLAHOMA
A space to exchange ideas on modern life
"more happiness, less stuff"
We are meeting once a month this fall.  Our current topic is clutter and organization.  We have decided to research different areas of this topic and present our findings to the group at our next meeting on October 20.  If you were not able to attend in September, please feel free to join us in October!

  We are also looking for
individuals who would like to start simplicity groups in their own communities around Oklahoma.  If you are interested in finding out how to do this, contact: simplelivingoklahoma@yahoo.com

Saturday, September 15      10:00 - 11:30 am
Saturday, October 20          10:00 - 11:30 am
Saturday, November 10       10:00 - 11:30 am

Voluntary simplicity is a personal philosophy and social movement encompassing the issues of work, money, success, consumerism, community, media, clutter, time, and the environment. Ultimately, it is about living mindfully.  We are so busy becoming more productive, working longer hours, and using up material resources the we rarely stop to reflect on the way we live in the twenty-first century.  Is our lifestyle promoting significant meaning and fulfillment in our lives?

If you are interested in learning about voluntary simplicity, a good place to start is by reading
The Circle of Simplicity by Cecile Andrews which is available through the metrolibrary system.  We used this book during the seven week seminar.  Cecile's new book, Slow Is Beautiful, is now available through the metrolibrary system as well.
