Chi Gung Training

"Chi Kung in the Fut Sao Wing Chun Style" Chi kung training emphasizes endurance, breathing, and physical movements to "open" the chi passages in the body regulating chi flow providing health benefits and power in the martial arts. Regulation and understanding of chi flow allows students to gain a greater awareness of their own bodies, surroundings and energy sources. While chi gung can heal, it can also be used to generate enormous power in strikes and the exercises are taught to those students that can demonstrate self control, understanding and good nature.
Chi gung training drills in the system include movements that are additional to the regular Wing Chun forms. In time the students learn to control the chi to the extent that the forms complement chi gung exercises and vice versa. Breathing, stance-work, and meditation are also vital to proper development.
Beginnning students are introduced to the fundementals of chi gung training and start developing/ harnessing their energies. After this stage, control is taught and application soon follows. Advanced students work on further developing chi for longevity, health, and advanced Wing Chun training. As a note of caution, do to the internal aspects of the exercises, while the benefits are very great, such training should only be done under the supervision of a trained teacher.
