Stacey J. remembers the first time he sang in front of an audience at 7 or 8 years old. He was in the local tavern with his families hired hand and sang "Old Dogs and Children" along with the jukebox. He grew up in a small rural town in Iowa on a farm. He sang inthe Local high school choir and swing choir. he also had plenty of time to practice singing with the radio behind the wheel of a John Deere Tractor.
In his teen years Stacey could mostly be found singing along with Bob Seger or Led Zeplin.
Today
YOU would be more likely to hear him singing and performing George Strait, Toby Keith, Or Alan Jackson songs. His Idols have always been George Strait and the late Conway Twitty. As a kid Stacey had stage fright, although you wouldn't know it now. He has a singing style all his own, knows how to deliver a song, is a super entertainer and performer! His travels and bookings have taken him to Nashville and he sang and performed on the T.V. Show "Fowler's All Night Sing." While htere he recorded his first CD Album Titled "Caught Red Handed" in Febuary of 2000. His Travels and Bookings on the road brought him back to Iowa and the land that he so dearly loved when he was a kid. Like most entertainers today he has to moonlite as a Diesel mechanic while he pursues his dream of being that full-time entertainer and recording artist. He is fast becoming known as the "Singing" Diesel Mechanic and the truckers and farmers who drive diesels have taken quit a shine to him and his singing and performing.
In 2001 Stacey won the Iowa "TRUE VALUE COUNTRY MUSIC SHOWDOWN" Contest Sponsered by k-107.9 fm "Real Country Radio" 204 Division St Stuart, Iowa, and will now perform at the Nebraska State Fair in 2001.
