It would be of great interest to me to learn more about the citizens who visit!!
"I watched him strap on his harness and helmet, climb into the cockpit and,
minutes later, a black dot falls off the wing two thousand feet above our
field. At almost the same instant, a white streak behind him flowered
out into the delicate wavering muslin of a parachute ...a few
gossamer yards grasping into air and suspending below
them, with invisible threads, a human life, and man
who by stitches, cloth, and cord, had made himself
a god of the sky for those immortal moments."
-- Charles Lindbergh
What is Skydiving?
It all began while my friend John
and
I were at a San Diego Chargers football game
and the Navy Seals skydive team, who are known
as the" Leapfrogs", jumped into the stadium prior to
the game. As they were landing John looked over at me
and said "Let's do it", I looked back at him and said "Ok".
I had been wanting to skydive for quite awhile and that was
the clencher. On Jan. 17, 1999 we went down to Air Adventures
Skydiving (now known as Skydive San Diego) at Brown field and
started our AFF (Accelerated Free Fall) training, you go thru 7
levels learning different aspects of skydiving. After 12 jumps
out of a perfectly good airplane I completed the training.
I now hold a "B" license and am working on getting
my "C" license. Needless to say I am totally hooked
and as of August 18, 2003 I have 144 skydives!! If you live
in the San Diego area or are planning to visit
and would like more info on AFF, Tandem,
Staticline or are an experienced parachutist
and would like to make a dive or 2, check
out the Skydive San Diego website below!
