A Webring Dedicated to the Beauty and Inspiration Found within the Darker Aspects of Nature

About this webring:
This webring welcomes sites that appreciate and celebrate topics including darkness, individuality, contemplation, night, silence, solitude, introspection, melancholy, the shadow, chaos, creativity, mystery, spirituality with depth, diversity, wisdom, self-expression, and all artistic endeavors. Your site does not need to be entirely focused on these ideas, but it should show definite consideration for some of the afore-mentioned topics. Above all, your site should be a representation of your own personal beliefs and perspectives. Sites that consist only of material copied out of books, magazines, or other webpages will not be accepted (especially if these sites do not properly cite their resources). While this webring is geared towards Pagans, Wiccans, and other followers of Earth Religions; I will accept sites that show a love of Nature, consideration of the concepts listed above, and that do not violate the rules for inclusion into the webring, by a person of any spiritual persuasion. I particularly welcome sites that illustrate their creator's thoughts via the visual arts, poetry, music, drama, dance, writing, or other art forms. You site does not need to be "Gothic" in nature to join, although I also welcome those that are.

Things that will not be tolerated in this webring:

Excessive use of foul language:
I might be willing to look over the very occassional use of profanity, but your site will not be accepted if it is populated by foul language.

Pornography or adult content:
I think this is pretty self-explanatory. Artistic nudity, which is an entirely different matter, is fine. If your site is questionable in this regard, I will make the call.

Hate and intolerance:
If your site promoats hate or intolerance in any way (this includes racism, sexism, and the belief that your philosophy or religion is the "One, True Way" while every other belief system is entirely false or evil), I will not accept it. Contrasting your views with that of another religion, or the respectful critiques of other faiths is fine. Disagreeing with another religion and hating it are very different things.

Sites under major construction:
I do not want sites full of "Under Construction" and "come back later" messages, or sites with many broken links. I know that even the very best sites must begin somewhere, but please have some content on your page before you apply.

Sites without original content:
Again, I must stress that I want to have sites full of unique personal opinions, perspectives, and expressions. If your site is composed of only "My Book of Shadows" and some links, I will not accept it. Put your own thoughts and ideas into your site!

Sites filled with annoying things:
this includes typing in all caps, typing LiKe THiS (i.e. erratic use of caps), many spelling or grammatical errors, loud backround loading midis, and very poor web design.

Webring Codes:
There are three versions of the webring code. One is a text-only code, and the last includes images. You may reformat the text code to suit you page better, but again please keep the ring information intact (please at least keep the options for next, previous, join, and list as well as the address for the ring's homepage).

If you choose a version with images, you must download the images onto your server. On a Macintosh, you can save these images to your computer by holding down the mouse button until a menu pops up, and then click "Download image to disc." Do not merely link to these images!
