So, How does this work?  I mean, we've been through Tigers and we're used to that, but that doesn't mean we know what to expect for Wolves...

That's right? So take a look at what we'll be doing!
PATH TO WOLF

To earn the WOLF badge, your scout will be learning about 12 different areas.

1. Feats of Skill
2.  Your Flag
3.  Keep your Body Healthy
4.  Know your Home and Community
5.  Tools for Fixing and Building
6.  Start a Collection
7.  Your Living World   8.  Cooking and Eating   9.  Be Safe at Home and on the Street
10. Family Fun
11. Duty to God
12.  Making Choices
How will we keep track of what our cub has done?

Just like the Tiger book. There will be a space for the Adult Partner to sign for the completion of the achievement and then a space for the Den Leader to sign when they record it.

Then, go to pages 234-235 of the Wolf Guide book and color in the matching Wolf Paw for the activity.

Then what? What about beads and other visible signs of achievement?

That's the great part! We'll be keeping track of it in two ways.

1.  Bead Advancement
2.  Charts and Den 'Doodles'

1. A completed achievement is defined on pages 234-235. (ex.  1. Feats of Skill: to earn the achievement for that section you must complete A,B,C,D,E and one of the other achievements F-L)

As soon as a cub completes any three achievements, he receives the diamond patch and his first bead.  A new bead is awarded for every three achievements.  The yellow beads are for the wolf achievements and the red are for bears (next year).

When the cub has four yellow beads they are ready to receive their Wolf badge.
2.  Charts and Den 'Doodles':
Much like the chart we used in our Tiger year, there is a chart for the Wolf Year. That will be displayed at each den and pack meeting (Field Trips EXcluded).
Den Doodles... okay, it's a funny name, but it's a GREAT thing.  Since we only reward beads for every three achievements, what about the two in between?  That's what the doodle is for.  We'll have one for our den that will list ALL the cubs by name and display EVERY achievement for all to see!
ELECTIVES:

Yes, we have those too!

Electives are listed on pages 110-225.  Please take some time to read through the electives in the book and see what new fun we'll have.

You can earn them at any time, but they will only be awarded to the cub AFTER they have received their Wolf Badge.
(now the A, B, C, D are individual achievements)  Elective 2: Be an Actor  A = 1 elective  B = 1 elective

After your cub has completed his first  TEN electives.  He will be awarded a GOLD ARROW POINT

For every TEN electives AFTER that first Gold Arrow Point, the cub will be awarded a SILVER ARROW POINT
