The mission of the Pagan Unity Campaign (PUC) is to unify the many diverse branches of Paganism in America. We are not attempting to unify Pagans under a religious umbrella, but we want Pagans to come together under the banner of Freedom.
The PUC does not attempt to define Paganism; however when addressing an elected official, it is PUC's decision to state that: "Paganism may be loosely defined as any of a group of positive, life-affirming, earth-honoring faiths usually based in ancient beliefs." PUC does not support nor represent Satanist, Atheist, or cults. *** Press Release Press ReleaseFrom: Pagan Unity CampaignDate: May 1st, 2005 Subject: 2005 I Am Campaign Contact: Ginger Strivelli (ginger@paganunitycampaign.org),Fallon Glenn (tennessee_puc@yahoo.com Let's gear up for PUC's 2005 IAM campaign! As we have since the year 2001, PUC will lead a post card mailing to congress, and the president as well as local officials on Summer Solstice, June 21st. On these tens of thousands of post cards to the leaders of Lady Liberty's great land, we will simply state "I am a Pagan –fill in the blank—" (i.e. Mother, Soldier, Policeman, Nurse, Teacher, etc.) With this simple message delivered en masse we hope to educate the government on the facts that many of their constituents are Pagans, and that we are average `people-next-door' that are `everywhere' in society not just some unseen unheard small fringe group, that many assume us to be.
