Terry's Tales

stories from the mind of

July, 2009 / volume 69

Welcome to July! Baseball season is in full swing, and life is good.

As of June 30th, my two favorite teams, the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs, are both at around .500. Now some of you might be less than enthusiastic cheering for a .500 team. But the way I look at it, since I am an in-the-moment, improvisationally trained actor, the game I am watching at any given time, whether in person or (for the most part) on TV, is what is important. The season will take care of itself. And being a writer of drama, what's more dramatic than watching a .500 team, knowing they have a 50/50 chance of victory!

"Story 1" returns to the world of young Rosemary Potatoes and her three stuffed bears with Rosemary Potatoes & the Colored Markers.

For "Story 2" I'm reprinting an animal story from August, 2005, entitled Roo's on the Loose. It's based on the true story of my friend's cat, who was missing for six weeks. I want to dedicate this retelling to Roo's feline housemate, Mao, who passed away a few months ago.

This month's "Poem" celebrates the Fourth of July with The Fourth.

If you enjoy this web site, please tell your friends and acquaintances. I'm always interested in increasing my circulation. I am also constantly updating my list of names to contact each month with a reminder that the new edition is up and ready to enjoy. Please let me know if you want to be on the list at tbhagerty@earthlink.net. If I am presently contacting you, and you would prefer I didn't, again, just drop me a line.

Enjoying the summer on my balcony.
