Tomoe look-a-likes:

Yui Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion. She is the deceased mother of Shinji Ikari and the wife of Gendo Ikari. Her soul was trapped inside Eva unit01  while she was testing it.

How are they alike? Not counting the looks, but Yui really loved Gendo even if he was notorious in their university. She discovered the TRUE Gendo deep within that mile thick shell of his. It goes the same for Tomoe's love for Battousai (sigh... true love).

Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion. She is the enigmatic pilot of Eva unit00. She is a clone of Yui and Lilith (I think). There are three kinds of Rei's that appear in the series. Rei 1 is that little kid over there and was choked to death by Gendo's other lover. Rei 2 is the one usually seen in the series that is until she exploded herself to save Shinji. Rei 3 is the one which replaced the 2nd Rei and initiated the 3rd impact.

How are they alike? Since Rei has Yui's DNA she has this obsession for Gendo too (see above) She even kept his broken glasses after he saved her when her Eva got berserk. She loves him so much that she slapped Shinji for hating his hard-to-know, heartless father. Okay so Tomoe's not that obsessed with Kenshin but they still look alike in some aspects one way or another.

Anime/Manga: Inu Yasha 

 Kikyo was the village priestess who guarded the Shikon no Tama  jewel. She was amazing with the bow and arrows. She fell in love with the reluctant half-dog-demon Inu Yasha. She convinced him to use the powers of the Shikon jewel to turn human. However, on the way to give him the jewel, she was attacked by Naraku, who was wearing Inu Yasha's form. Naraku stole the jewel, then used Kikyo's form to attack Inu Yasha. Both convinced that the other betrayed them, Inu Yasha steals the jewel, but Kikyo uses the last of her strength to shoot him with her arrow, pinning him to the Shinboku tree for fifty years in a dreamless sleep. She dies soon after. Her reincarnation is Kagome. Kikyo is resurrected from bones and dirt by the ogress Urasue, however she is not one of the living. She is very complex and often tries to kill Kagome and to drag Inu Yasha to hell with her. 

Why they are alike: 
1. They were both killed by the one they love. ( In the Inu Yasha case, the 
image of the one she loved.) 
2. They look similar. 
3. They helped draw the human side out the one they fell in love with. 
4. Their loved one falls in love with another girl later on that looks very 
alike to the first love. (Kaoru and Kagome) 
5. Their fatal injury was in the same place! (Right shoulder) 
6. They act very alike. 
7. At the time of their death, they both caused an injury to their loved one.
