MARK'S PULP TAPES - last update 1 September 2002
sturdye@obviouslyfalsepart.postmaster.co.uk
Stuff in red new since April 2000
NOTES
Dates given refer to when things were recorded, not when they were released/broadcast.
I'm interested in most Pulp stuff, including significant upgrades of what I've already got. Also video stuff - especially Reading '94 (45-minute version) and New Sessions '91.
I always use new, high-quality type II tapes (usually TDK SA or SA-X), so I hope you will too.
I've given up giving sound quality ratings to the new stuff I get in because they're pretty meaningless really. Basically if something's low-gen and/or from an FM or TV source you can assume it'll be pretty good; higher or unknown gen recordings will generally sound a bit rougher. I've noted when something's particularly outstanding or particularly poor.
RATINGS
A+ - As good as you'd expect from a commercial release. Perfect.
A - Almost as good. Excellent
B - Still good; your friends won't laugh at it. Definitely listenable, but with noticeable hiss or distortion or some other problem.
C - A bit crap but never mind, it's still Pulp.
