Louisiana Cricket Club came forward to get the cricketers of Acadiana involved in their charity match "CRICKET FOR TSUNAMI". Students, Faculty and Alumni of UL Lafayette along with the community of Lafayette City participated in raising funds for the victims of Tsunami. The proceeds will be forwarded to RED Cross's International Disaster Funds.

 

The charity match was held between UL XI and Lafayette XI. Lafayette XI lost the toss and were send to bat first. With minor contributions from the top order batsman, Rupesh Sagar added a healthy score of 54 Not Out to 131/5 that earned him the Man of The Match title. Jamal Khattak was the other major contributor with a score of 39 Not Out. In reply, UL XI batted steadily with only 3 losses beating Lafayette XI by 2 wickets. Anand A. scored 43 to make the total 134/3

Become A Part of LCC:

LCC is a University of Louisiana at Lafayette club sports organization. It's members include UL Lafayette students, faculty, staff and numerous ULL alumni supporters. The season begins in August and ends in May of every year. Membership is accepted at the beginning of every season. University of Louisiana at Lafayette requires all playing LCC members to have supplementary insurance which is provided by the club after full payment of annual dues. Student membership is $40 per year and Associate membership is $100 per year. Membership can be obtained by completing a Membership Form, a Insurance Release Form and full payment of dues. Dues can be paid by cash or checks made out to LOUISIANA CRICKET CLUB or LCC. Members are also required to read and understand the Club Regulations upon becoming a member. Any Guest participants are welcome and are entertained only during practice sessions for up to two sessions. Membership then becomes mandatory for further participation.
