Come to Beeton & enjoy a day in the country in a small town atmosphere. In 1870 the first Commercial Beekeeping enterprise was started in Clarksville, Ontario by David Allanson Jones. He became Internationally known and recognized as the *Bee King* of the 19th Century. He was the founder of the Ontario Beekeepers Association. In recognition of his achievements the village of Clarkesville was renamed Bee-Town and later became known as Beeton. The first Honey Festival in Beeton was held in 1973 and the last one in 1984. In 1997 the Beeton Horticultural Society decided to take Beeton back to it's heritage and revived the Honey Festival and combined it with it's annual flower sale.
