San Diego Chapter
USA Dance was formerly known as the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association (USABDA.) It is the largest organization of amateur ballroom dancers in the country, with numerous chapters serving their local social, college and competitive ballroom dance communities. Nationally, USA Dance is recognized by the US Olympic Committee as the National Governing Body for the competitive sport of DanceSport.
The San Diego Chapter of USA Dance has a modest number of members compared to many of the other chapters of the national organization. We have been holding very enjoyable monthly social dance parties for many years, plus a series of dance workshops in the past. In the future, we hope to expand our activities to further support local social, college and competitive dancers. We welcome volunteers and currently have openings on our chapter's Board of Directors for those who wish to join us in serving the dance community.
The San Diego Chapter of USA Dance has been holding very popular and well attended monthly social dances for several years now. Couples and single dancers of all ages and ability levels are invited!!!
WHEN: FIRST SATURDAY of each month,
WHERE: Dance North County, 535 Encinitas Blvd, Suite 100, in Encinitas
WHEN: FOURTH SATURDAY of each month,
WHERE: Synergy Dance Zone, 7480 Miramar Road, San Diego.
DETAILS FOR BOTH DANCES:
TIME: Simultaneous Beginner and Intermediate Lessons at 7 pm, Dancing from 8 to 11+ pm
MUSIC: We play a huge variety of music: ballroom, latin, swing, hustle, two step, salsa and much more!
COST: $7 general admission, $5 for students, $4 for USA Dance Members
DRESS: At your discretion... "Dress to Impress" or "Casual" (Not formal)
