ABOUT OUR GROUP:
WARM is an independent interest group for writers, would-be writers, and anyone curious about writing. We meet regularly in downtown Montreal, Canada.
Guest speakers offer a wide range of topics related to the craft, and all present share "writing lore" in a friendly atmosphere.
As well, WARM sometimes hosts creative writing workshops, panel discussions, or even the odd field trip.
Major fiction and nonfiction writing genres are represented; mystery to memoir, poetry or prose.
Occasionally, we will delve into other forms of creative expression, featuring speakers who may be, for example, visual artists or musicians.
Started in 1983, WARM continues to serve as a source of inspiration and amity. Our aim is to be educative and enjoyable.
Jeanette Paul, who speaks, leads writing workshops, and freelances feature articles, heads the executive as president.
Alex MacLeod, a former college professor and author of "The Splendor of the Goddess," serves as vice-president.

Hope you've had a terrific summer!
September means that our 2007-2008 meeting season and membership year has started.
Now here's welcome news! According to an August 31st executive decision, WARM membership drops to a $10 stipend per annum.
This reflects the facts that 1) formal meetings presently take place in alternate months only, and 2) the newsletter is no longer a regular offering.
Our guest don for nonmembers remains at $5 per meeting.
